Community Support for Medical Personnel

Tuesday afternoon our Cypress Creek Fire Department Station 24 staff were contacted to assist in supporting local medical personnel at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital.

In coordination with Captain Chad Howe of Cypress Creek Station 23, 89.3 KSBJ radio, and family members in the community, a gathering was held just outside Methodist WIllowbrook Hospital in the early evening. Chad Howe advised his wife, who is a nurse herself, called KSBJ and coordinated a song to be played at 6:30 pm at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital for all the doctors and nurses on the front lines.

Turnout was better than anticipated. At locations throughout Houston where medical personnel put themselves at risk every day during this epidemic, community members parked and honked their horns to show their appreciation for the hospital staff.

District Chief Jason Corthell, Fire Marshal Joey Dockins, Captain Nick Lawrence, Engineer Operator Jimmy Moore, and Fire Fighters Clay Morse, Brian Siebold, and David Perez brought three CCFD trucks out from Station 24 to participate in the event, and with the nurses at the hospital got to really experience an amazing sense of faith and community, all rolled into one.

To all the medical personnel out there selflessly keeping us safe during these uncertain times, CCFD thanks you for all that you do.
